One of our favorite narrative films of the year. 20th Century Women stars Annette Benning, Elle Fanning, and Greta Gerwig, and lovingly takes us back to the summer of 1979, Santa Barbara, California, as it explores three women (and one darling young man) looking for love and freedom. At a complete loss as to how to raise her teenage son, Benning enlists the help of her three boardinghouse tenants - a quirky punk photographer (Gerwig), a mellow handyman (Billy Crudup) and her son's shrewd best friend (Fanning) - to serve as role models in a changing world. Nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Motion Picture.
